The dirty dozen…

The dirty dozen… | Learn about nutrition with me! lists the 12 fruits and veggies most contaminated with pesticides. If you are buying any of these fruits or veggies try and buy organic. Whenever I buy green leafy stuff I always try and buy organic. If you can’t buy organic because of budget or unavailability then wash the produce in water that has a slug of vinegar added to it. The vinegar alters the pH of the water and helps to remove the pesticides more successfully.

If you have a garden or balcony then try growing your own. I can be sure that my home grown raspberries have no pesticide contamination!

  1. That’s awesome advice. I didn’t know that about vinegar. Thanks!
