Supper: 1/2 avocado with spoon of mayo, rib-eye steak, sauerkraut, 1/2 courgette, cauliflower
Snacks: 1 x Lindor chocolate, beef jerky, aubergine & cheddar crisps
Beverages: lemon juice in water (1), black tea & milk (several), coffee with cream (1), water (3), white wine (2)
Hunter/gathering: Went to the High Street early and managed to get to Reynolds before all the soup bones had gone.
Watching the pennies: 2 x packs soup bones (approx 1.6 Kg) for £2 and 2 x pig hocks for £1 each.
In the kitchen:
- Curing: leg of pork (making air-dried ham)
- Fermenting: sauerkraut
- Slow cooking: making stock
In the garden:
- Picking: strawberries, radishes and the first courgette of the year.
Move around a lot at a slow pace: walked into town and back; 1 1/2 hour walk; on feet most of day.
Lift heavy things: watered all the pots with watering can
