Primal Anne’s Log Earth Date 2/6/2012 (a LHT day)

Food:

Breakfast: steak, egg, mushroom, tomato

Lunch (very, very late): couple of sausages, mashed squash, sauerkraut, asparagus, broad beans

Supper: devils on horseback, cheddar cheese & anchovy salad

Snacks: small piece of dark chocolate from my Easter egg (slowly disappearing), beef jerky

Beverages: lemon juice in water (1), black tea & milk (several), coffee with cream (1), water (3), dandelion tea (0), red wine (2)

Hunter/Gathering:

      • picked peas, broad beans, strawberries
      • into town to buy more beef for jerky (see supplemental)

Watching the pennies:

We went to the tip with garden waste first thing. As it was early (i.e. before the crowds) PrimalMan suggested stopping by TKMaxx. Back in March we found some Vivo Barefoot shoes there and I think he was hoping to find some more. No shoes but lots of cookware in at present. I could have spent a fortune but reigned myself in. I have been considering buying a meat grinder for some time now so I was particularly pleased to find a Kitchen Craft cast iron meat grinder with sausage making attachment for 1/2 price (14.99). I also bought a couple of pyrex bowls with plastic lids and 3 more kilner jars.

In the kitchen:

In the garden:

Anne’s Primal Challenge (100-up): No. Simply ran out of time. It was a choice between this and lift heavy things and since I hadn’t done the later for a couple of weeks lift heavy things took priority.

Supplemental: 

PrimalMan and friend Richard go to Kefalonia next weekend to play. PrimalMan is going to be teaching a yoga class every morning and Richard a tai chi class at the Koriana Mind & Body Centre (more details). In the afternoons they will be training aikido with Tony Sargeant Sensei. And so the cry has gone out for Primal Snacks to go. More Beef Jerky is required so we walked into town to buy more steak.

I didn’t get around to making the jerky yesterday. All our plans went belly up around midday. We went over to Mum’s to cut her hedge and to our surprise found her at home. She had been booked on a trip on the BAT bus (Bournemouth Council for Voluntary Service Bournemouth Accessible Transport for residents of Bournemouth who are unable to use public transport because of a physical or sensory disability.) but cancelled because an allergy she has been suffering with the past few days had gotten a lot worse and was not responding to the pills and potion prescribed by the GP. It being a Bank Holiday weekend there are reduced surgery hours so we ended up taking her to a drop in clinic at the hospital where they prescribed antibiotics and steroids. Poor old stick! Hopefully she will be feeling much better soon.
