The First Alpine Strawberry Flower

Alpine strawberry flower

A couple of years ago I sowed alpine strawberry seeds. From seemingly hundreds of dust like seeds only 5 germinated. Two years on and those 5 plants have bushed out nicely. A few weeks ago they started to send out runners (this was a suprise as I had read that they could only be propagated by seed!) but the were no sign of any flowers. Until now! It’s been a long wait so, in celebration, here is a photo of the first flower.
