More to Mushrooms

Mushrooms are a great source of the B vitamins and are also rich in antioxidants. I have just discovered the more to mushrooms website. The website is run by The Mushroom Bureau, which is responsible for the generic publicity of all fresh cultivated mushrooms sold in Britain.

As well as giving information about the types of mushrooms we commonly find in the shops here in the UK and the nutritional value of mushrooms there are 250 mushroom recipes. Not all of them are paleo/primal but could of course be hacked. There are some really yummy looking recipes that I can’t wait to try. It’s the asparagus season so how about Basalmic mushroom, chicken and asparagus salad. Also looking tempting are spiced mushrooms (hold the peanuts) and mushroom and bacon skewers (needs to be hacked re sugar)and chicken and mushroom cups (hack the sugar) and…
